Client Brief:The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest academic college at the Australian National University. As a result the constant maintenance and skill resources required to update their website in Dreamweaver and static HTML had become an untenable solution. After discussion with CASS we were engaged to implement an organisation wide web content management system (CMS) through which both their public and private online presences would be managed.

Kudasai's Solution:Kudasai implemented a modular open source CMS which enables CASS and constituent areas to easily maintain content across the entire website. The system supports a tiered user permission structure which integrates with the universities LDAP/Active Directory authentication systems. The system segments access to editing web site content by the business area or 'role' of each user. This allows CASS to distribute responsibility for the creation and editing of content to those managers and staff who are responsible for generating the content. We undertook extended business process analysis with CASS, and from our findings were able to implement a range of new workflows and publication features into the CMS. Some of these features include individual business area news feeds, news archives and CASS events calendar management. Kudasai continue to support CASS in day-to-day operation and in the ongoing functionality enhancements of the system.
